The basics

What is Tajweed?

Tajweed is the set of rules that governs how the Quran is pronounced: where each letter comes from (makhraj), its characteristics (sifat), and how sounds change when letters meet. It preserves the recitation exactly as it has been passed down.

In our lessons, each rule is explained, demonstrated by the teacher and then practised in real verses, so theory turns into habit.

Why it matters

Small details, big difference

Correct Tajweed protects the meaning of the words and brings beauty and confidence to your recitation.

  • Avoid mistakes that can change the meaning of a word.
  • Recite in Salah with confidence and correctness.
  • Understand the reasons behind the sounds you hear from skilled reciters.
  • Prepare properly for memorisation or for leading prayer.
  • Build a recitation you can pass on to your children.
