The basics

What is the Noorani Qaida?

The Noorani Qaida is a step-by-step primer used for generations to prepare students to read the Quran. It introduces the letters, then their vowel marks, then gradually combines them, so that by the final pages a student is reading Quranic words with confidence.

At Madani Quran Academy, your teacher reads each sound aloud, listens as you repeat it and corrects you straight away. It suits young children, adults starting from scratch and new Muslims alike.

Why it matters

A strong start pays off later

Learning the Qaida properly means fewer habits to unlearn and faster progress once you open the Quran.

  • Hear and practise every letter with its correct sound and articulation point.
  • Form good pronunciation habits before mistakes become ingrained.
  • Progress naturally from single letters to joined letters, words and short phrases.
  • Prepare the ground for Tajweed, so later rules make immediate sense.
  • Gain the confidence to open the Mushaf and start reading on your own.
